HOW TO FIND YOUR PERFECT GUIDE OR DRIVER IN SRI LANKA
CHOOSING YOUR TOUR GUIDES OR DRIVERS IN SRI LANKA
In the days to come there will be so many Tour Guides listed!
Who and how should you choose? Here are some tips on picking a guide suitable for you.
See if there are reviews by other travellers posted on their profile. Of course, our tour guide/drivers listings are quite new so there aren’t many reviews yet. So we advise to sort third party information until out platform is able to give a firm guidance.
See how long the Tour Guide or Driver has been in operation (years of experience). If they have been on for a long time, this means they have more experience and has inside tips.
Check out content contributed by the Tour Guide. This can display their knowledge and enthusiasm. Content they submitted is listed on their profile page.Guide or driver content also say additional travel and tourism related services they can provide.
Ask for references if you don’t find enough reviews. On the Image Gallery the past hand-written reviews may display or on a separate link that we may provide or as an Image format.
Check if they have any specialisation you are interested about, by using the Tags/Specialisations filter: this will help fine tune the search.
GETTING THE MOST OUT OF YOUR TOUR IN SRI LANKA
Ask us about your Tour Guides and Drivers before meeting them.
The length of time they will work (which should be given in the profile)
How many people will be attending in the experiences: is it only her/him, or if required a language interpreter or separate Guide, then clarify these notes clearly and the costs. It is possible for separate language Guides you may need to pay well in advance the full amount to book them as they are on demand with small and big tour operating companies in Sri Lanka.
Who will pay entrance tickets, meal fees and transportation fees? Also discuss whether or not you will be tipping.
Where you will be travelling together. For that matter, tell them where you will NOT be traveling together as well. It is common for Tour Guides to earn commission for bringing travellers to gift shops. If you don’t want to stop at any of these, let them know ahead of time. It saves both your time and their times.
Any special considerations and requests you will need.
What currency you will be paying with. You pay the tour guide directly. We only charge a 20% and 10% goes to the local driver/guide to block your dates. This is not refundable, please see our Terms of Service to see when we refund the charged deposit and how.
If the Driver of Guides Accommodation is included in the quote and if not, where necessary, what would be a rate you have to pay for the accommodation of the driver or guide.
